LEARN MORE ABOUT TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICES

Meet Suzanne Wells

I am deeply committed to creating a life centred around helping people feel safe, secure, and deeply valued. By fostering a profound sense of self-worth, I aim to inspire expanded kindness in the world.

Married with two wonderful teenage children, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges they face in navigating life while embracing moments of joy. My coaching journey began as a life coach and makeup artist, helping people look their best and feel confident. However, I often noticed that this confidence was fleeting, and I intuitively sensed deeper issues related to low self-worth and self-compassion.

Driven by a deep interest in the workings of the brain, I have been a lifelong learner in personal development and the mind-body-spirit connection. Understanding how these elements flow together to shape our realities has been a guiding force in my life.

Having faced my own struggles with low confidence and self-esteem as a child, and witnessing my children navigate their challenges within a rigid school system, I became passionate about creating trauma-informed environments. I believe in the power of positive psychology to transform schools and workplaces into kinder, more supportive spaces where everyone can thrive without fear or dread.

My Mission

As a somatic trauma-informed coach and leader, my mission is to spread vital awareness to as many schools and workplaces as possible. In today's world, understanding human behavior at a somatic trauma level is not just important—it's imperative. My goal is to foster a culture of empathy and growth, where recognizing common trauma responses like fight, flight, freeze, or dissociation leads to better support and flourishing environments.

Promoting somatic trauma-informed leadership involves recognizing the nervous system's role in shaping behaviours and creating a sense of safety from the top down. This understanding empowers individuals to trust themselves and others, fostering a deeper sense of calm and resilience. By acknowledging the holistic nature of trauma—incorporating mind, body, and spirit—we can help individuals explore and address the impact of their past in a safe, supportive setting.

My Approach

My approach recognizes that past experiences can influence the present and that creating a compassionate environment is essential for true healing and growth. By gently exploring protective responses that once served a purpose, we can uncover new behaviours and beliefs that support personal and professional development.

Ultimately, my mission is to promote post-traumatic growth through a collaborative journey between client and coach, exploring somatic practices. In an ever-changing world, where people are continually susceptible to traumatic events, raising awareness and fostering trauma-informed environments is crucial for helping individuals flourish and thrive. I am deeply passionate about this work and committed to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
